National Vision’s 25th Year at the Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk
On September 7, 2017, National Vision participated in the Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk. This was National Vision’s 25th year participating and the 35th anniversary for the event nicknamed the “World’s Largest Office Party.”
About This Year’s Run/Walk
This year we had 189 Associates register for the event. Associates from the Retail Support Center (RSC), Distribution Center (DC), our Lawrenceville Lab, and from some of our retail stores and regional field offices came together for a night of fun and fitness.
This year’s event was also held at a new location – the Georgia World Congress Center, a convention center in downtown Atlanta. With a new location also came a new route. Runners and walkers enjoyed sights such as the World of Coca-Cola, Centennial Olympic Park, the SkyView Ferris Wheel, the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium and the Georgia Dome during the 3.3 mile course.
Testimonials
Courtney Blanchard, Graphics Specialist, says:
“The atmosphere was great, it made me want to push myself hearing the camaraderie of the volunteers and other participants. The best part of the run was coming down the street seeing the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium shining towards the finish, and you knew you were almost there!”
Melis Martinez, Marketing Specialist, says:
“I had so much fun participating in my first KP Corporate Run/Walk. I enjoyed getting to know other National Vision employees outside of the workplace. The experience has motivated me to get back into running, and I plan to do another 5K this Saturday. Thanks National Vision for promoting a healthier lifestyle!”
Connie-Sue Oriel, Benefits Specialist, says:
“This event served as a reminder of how fortunate I am to work with such hardworking individuals dedicated to teamwork, excellence and camaraderie.”
Fernando Escalante, HR Generalist Projects & Compliance, says:
“I had a great time at my first KP Corporate Run/Walk with National Vision! Exercising with so many of my coworkers and thousands of others was very motivating. I liked the course path; getting to see the new Mercedes-Benz stadium up close was nice too. Many thanks to the Benefits Team and all who set this up! I hope to be there again next year!”
