Meet our Summer Interns
This summer, National Vision was fortunate to host three summer interns from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels, and with a diverse range of stories to tell. Learn a little more about them here:
Tanya Paulino
School: Georgia State University
Major: B.B.A. in Managerial Science
Department: Human Resources
What did you work on this summer? I worked on creating a how-to guide for Associates and their supervisors that walked them through the steps of a completing a self-evaluation and how to deliver an effective annual appraisal performance.
Fun Fact: I am great with directions! I can go to a place one time and remember how to get there by memory.
Favorite Frame Brand: Dolce & Gabbana
Jordan Phelan
School: Florida State University
Major: Retail Entrepreneurship with a minor in Business
Department: Merchandising
What did you work on this summer? I worked on creating a survey for our stores about their current signage and displays. I also worked on creating files for each store with all the information we have on the store’s signage as well as the floor plans and storefront elevations. I converted paper files into scans and then used the scanned files to create spreadsheets with all the signage information, including signage types and sizes.
Fun Fact: I studied abroad in London, England for the spring semester of my junior year at Florida State University. I lived at FSU’s campus in central London, affording me the opportunity to attend classes in museums and at historic sites across the city. During my time abroad I also traveled to Sweden, Belgium, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, The Netherlands, Scotland and Ireland.

Ashley Lewis
School: Valdosta State University
Major: Kinesiology
Department: Philanthropy
What did you work on this summer? I worked on the Made Locally, Given Globally (MLGG) program. This involved sorting frames and lenses, sending them to the stores and receiving the completed glasses.
Fun Fact: I am color blind!
Favorite Frame Brand: Ray-Ban
