2016 Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk
On September 22, 2016, National Vision participated in its 24th Kaiser Permanente (KP) Corporate Run/Walk!
About This Year’s Event
This year we had 245 associates register for the event. Associates from the Retail Support Center (RSC), Distribution Center (DC), our Lawrenceville Lab, and from some of our retail stores and regional field offices came together for a night of fun and fitness.
Here’s what some of the participants had to say:
“I’ve attended every year since starting with the company and this was the first year that I felt capable of running the race. I felt great because I have been participating in the fitness classes offered at the RSC. I ran, walked and talked and it was the best experience since being with the company.” – Jennin Demercado, Senior Analyst – Financial Operations
“I really enjoy signing up for the run/walk each year, because it is a fun, healthy activity we can share together with our co-workers outside of the office. This year was my third time participating, and I ran. NVI has made this event something that we all look forward to, and I think it really helps create a culture of wellness. I will say that this 5k had more hills than I was used to, but I enjoyed the challenge!” – Lisa Aultman, Philanthropy Coordinator
“A moment that really stuck out to me was when Reade stayed after everyone else left to go home, to help the Benefits Department clean up after the run/walk. This was impressive to me because I have only been an employee at NVI for two weeks, and I was surprised the CEO would be so involved with the little things.” – Emily Wood, Wellness Specialist
About The KP Corporate Run/Walk
The KP Corporate Run/Walk was produced by U.S. Olympian and running expert Jeff Galloway. The event is designed to promote health, wellness and fitness among metro Atlanta companies and their employees. This annual 5K event (3.1 miles) starts and finishes at the Olympic Rings on Hank Aaron Drive in Atlanta, GA.
The KP Run/Walk attracts over 16,000 participants of all levels of fitness, from walkers, to joggers and competitive runners. Every year more than 400 Atlanta companies as well as hundreds of individual participants sign up for what is now known as the “World’s Largest Office Party.”
