2016 Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk

On September 22, 2016, National Vision participated in its 24th Kaiser Permanente (KP) Corporate Run/Walk!

About This Year’s EventAssociate at the 2016 KP Run/Walk

This year we had 245 associates register for the event.  Associates from the Retail Support Center (RSC), Distribution Center (DC), our Lawrenceville Lab, and from some of our retail stores and regional field offices came together for a night of fun and fitness.

Congratulations to Forrest Tennant, Employment Generalist, for being the first NVI associate to finish the run/walk!  Forrest completed the 5K in 22 minutes and 28 seconds.

Testimonials

Here’s what some of the participants had to say:

I’ve attended every year since starting with the company and this was the first year that I felt capable of running the race. I felt great because I have been participating in the fitness classes offered at the RSC. I ran, walked and talked and it was the best experience since being with the company.” – Jennin Demercado, Senior Analyst – Financial Operations

I really enjoy signing up for the run/walk each year, because it is a fun, healthy activity we can share together with our co-workers outside of the office. This year was my third time participating, and I ran. NVI has made this event something that we all look forward to, and I think it really helps create a culture of wellness. I will say that this 5k had more hills than I was used to, but I enjoyed the challenge!” – Lisa Aultman, Philanthropy Coordinator

Asscoaites at KP Run/Walk

This was my fourth time participating in the KP 5k but my first time running it.  It’s great that NVI participates!  Knowing that this race was coming up motivated me to be healthier and work out more.” – Leahann Vaughn, Managed Care Sales Coordinator
It’s a great way to make ourselves known in the community.” – Rebecca Archibold-Lynch, Marketing Specialist

A moment that really stuck out to me was when Reade stayed after everyone else left to go home, to help the Benefits Department clean up after the run/walk. This was impressive to me because I have only been an employee at NVI for two weeks, and I was surprised the CEO would be so involved with the little things.” – Emily Wood, Wellness Specialist
